Soon after the announcement of Google+ (Google Plus), the new social networking site from Google, Zuckerberg told the media that his company is planning to "launch something awesome" in coming weeks. Later, Facebook sent invites to media for a media event at its headquarters.
Even though the invitation didn't reveal anything about the event, speculation and rumours started doing rounds about the new 'awesome' features. The prominent one is the addition of video chat to Facebook with the help of Skype. Earlier, we reported Facebook was in talks with Skype to offer the video chat service for its 700 million users around the globe.
Interestingly, rumours on Facebook's video chat service gained momentum after the emerge of Google+ Hangouts, a service that allows users to video chat with more than ten friends at a time. According to media reports, Facebook is in trouble with the launch of Google+. The new platform offers better features like Google+ Circles that helps users to manage their friends in different groups and Google+ Sparks which brings all news feeds about interested topics.
Other frontrunners in Facebook list is the launch of an exclusive app for Apple iPad and a photo sharing feature for iPhones. These are just rumours and we can expect more surprises from Mark Zuckerberg, the youngest billionaire in the world. Stay tuned for latest updates.
